I am bringing my brand new fiancee (at least she'll be by then!) with me, so I'd like to spoil her!

I have three nights in NYC in mid-March:
> First night, I'm at the W-The Court. I got a great Travelzoo rate on a 700 sqft Fantastic Suite. But if they offer a Platinum upgrade, should I take it? Is this a great room category and should I just stay put?

> Second night, I'm at the St. Regis on points. While I'm checking in, I would like to ask the front desk if they have any upgrades to a specific room category. Any recommendations?

> Third night, and this is the one I'm most concerned about - I'm at the W-NY. I have a 200 sqft room booked right now (and this isn't even the lowest room category). Is there a specific room type/category/number that I could specifically request as a Plat?

Please share your experiences with me and help me make this 2-stay mattress run with my future wife memorable and amazing. Thanks!
Stay at The Court all the time. The Fantastic Suite is always my upgrade at that hotel (2/2 times in 2007 after becoming Plat, I always book the cheapest room on SPG.com). Try to get one on one of the higher floors, the lower ones are pretty noisy because they are on the corner of 39th and Lex.

I try to avoid the W NY, but I have always gotten an upgrade there, even as Gold, I have been lucky and never gotten the dreaded 200 sqft at this property. The last time I stayed, I was offered a pay up to a suite, 50 bucks a night. Grabbed it.

I think the plat upgrades are the 2 room corner suites (don't know exactly what they are called). They are more than OK, but the bathroom is tiny
