Happens all the time when I go to Hawaii to visit the relatives. After a couple days immersed in Pidgin', I find myself naturally following the local inflections. So much so, that I sometimes get mistaken for "kama'aina." The first few days after I return to the mainland, the inflections are still in my voice until family and friends point it out to me. Funny thing is, I sound really dorky when I consciously demonstrate Pidgin to friends/colleagues in discussions about vacationing in Hawaii.
