You two are completely missing the point. First of all his post was in direct response to the post above which indicated the belief that a person making £300k would very well be able to afford F travel. Raffles responded that his assumption was incorrect. This should have been the end of it.
Instead you socialists choose to make a issue of somebody making £300k while not appreciating the fact that someone making £300k is actually far from wealthy, especially in London. It seems that you are the kind of people who complain about perceived excessive executive remuneration while ignoring that there are tremendous amounts of rank and file workers out there that are making multiples of what they are worth due to automatic pay rises and militant union maneuvering at a much greater and far more unjustified cost to their employers.
In fact in principle I do not take issue with the previous proposed NED travel policy. Although in practice though I must admit if indeed there is a revenue passenger in F he should have priority, policies like these are NOT uncommon. I work for a smaller PLC than BA, and we have a few people who can fly in paid F with their families.
I cannot believe there are so many people out there, especially in Western Europe in particular, that believe they should be paid more and more every year (raises far above inflation rates) for doing the same exact job of little retention value to the company in question. Yet these very people when being informed to this fact do nothing but complain, never taking the initiative to upgrade themselves and seek advancement opportunities.
I want you to know that a vast majority of executives out there are not lazy b@stards with a sense of entitlement who do everything possible to make life difficult for the rank and file. We work hard day in and day out, and have worked hard all our lives. The general belief that executives have a easy life is grossly inaccurate. We want everyone to succeed and prosper. Unfortunately, the fact of life is, in order for there to be success and for success to be rewarded not everybody can be successful. I firmly believe that those who work hard and take initiative to continuously improve will find success, one way or another.
