I think what Raffles was trying to point out was that in this day and age a salary of £300k does not really put you in the echelons of the super mega ultra ueber rich who can fly every week in F without worrying. It certainly makes you very well off, but as he (correctly) points out, most of these people will have mega-mortgages and expensive cars before they have lots and lots of F flights.
Of course in this case it is all a moot point anyway, as the Broughton family income is significantly in excess of £300k a year, as has been pointed out.
