It is a given that certain types of bookings are just available to be booked on the website. This is not limited to open jaws, as I, like Mikeyyz, have recently had to call in to book a Star Alliance award with a stopover.
Do not get me wrong, I am not supporting Aeroplan for what it has made or not made available on their website especially when other IT posters here say that it is possible.
However, if you are ranting over the $30 pp fee charged to you when you call the call centre, then you must have been hiding in a cave for the last couple of years.
