I feel like I have no ability to manage my music since I got itunes. Previously, my downloaded music went directly into "my music" (I have a PC, obv.) and saved as default mp3 files. Now everything I download and all my old music is in the itunes library. I can no longer email songs (something I do with my brothers), itunes will only export the whole library, not a single file. Furthermore, since I got the latest itunes update, when I update my ipod, it's putting the entire library into the ipod, even the songs that are un-checked. I don't want to have to go through and delete everything I don't want on my ipod, do I have to put everything in playlists?
Am I just an idiot and can't figure this out? Should I cut and run, but where to go and how to do it? I'm so frustrated!
Music that you download can be e-mailed.. right click on the song, click get info. that will tell you the file name and location. Using windows explorer, you can find that file, and from there you can e-mail it. The files you get off of the store on itunes will be AAC, they are transferable if you give your password to your brother or other person, you can activate 5 computers with your music. All other downloaded music should be in the original format downloaded unless itunes is converting it. Under options you can tell it to not consolidate your library.
