On flights in/out of Reagan (DCA), all pax must remain seated on departing fligts for the 1st 30mins, and on arriving flights for the last 30 mins. If not, the crew is supposed to divert to another airport and the pax violating the 30 min rule are taken into custody, stripped of all their FF program miles.

As for going potty during taxi, not only in the NY area, if the seat belt sign is on and the plane if moving on the ground, ur supposed to keep ur butt in the seat.

Simply listen to the FA right after landing and s/he will say something like "welcome to (where ever you are). It will take the old man up front a couple of minutes to taxi to the gate, please remain seated with your seat belt on until the fasten seat belt sign has been doused. Thank your flying with us....."

IP/Upgrademe...any guesses as to who got up to hit the can?
