No, no! Don't change a thing! I will now admit even further on this hallowed record that I, too, have an almost obsessive compulsion to grab unopened amenity kits from BF seats when I'm disembarking! (You know, the ones that still have the celo-wrap on them.) Even more ridiculous, I once made a BF seat-assignment decision based on how many rows of BF seats I would pass upon exiting the cabin, giving me a greater chance to snag more unopened amenity kits. The logic, embarrassingly, went something like this:
- Let's see, if I take 3D, I'll pass two rows of BF plus my own, making 3 rows.
- If I take 10B, I'll also pass two rows of BF plus my own, making 3 rows.
- But in row 10, some of the seats are crew rest seats, so they won't have amenity kits sitting in them. So that row is a partial wash.
- Well, that means 3D is better: more potential seats on offer to passengers. Oh, no! Wait:
- Traditionally the front BF cabin fills first, so even though there are more seats, there will be fewer empty ones!
- But wait! Some people (I hear) prefer the "quiet intimacy" of the BF minicabin to the right of door 2L, so...maybe those WILL fill more quickly!
...at which point my secretary said, "Which seat do you WANT to have? I will go BUY you some darned toothepaste and crappy socks and GIVE them to you if you will shut up and select your seat, which will be 3D like always, and I'm going home!"
So you see, the amenity kit problem has troubled me for years. And now I feel so free and unburdened! Is this what it feels like in a 12-step program to admit you have a problem? Ah, the release!
