I believe Qantas are fairly quick at sending out new membership packs to Australian members. I also belive you can get them to express deliver the pack for an additional fee.
Middle of last year work paid for my membership. I needed it fairly urgently so i paid more (maybe $30) to get it air-express delivered (to london). it took about a week and came with everything - they said that within australia they can get a card delivered within 48 hours and the pack comes later. if you make your timeframes clear then you should have no problem.
