I LOVE Gazpacho. The stuff served at McD's in Spain is the sorriest excuse for gazpacho you could possibly find in that country. You can get great gazpacho in virtually all restaurants. Pass on the McD's gazpacho.
Nonsense!
There are far worse gazpachos in Spain - the stuff they sell in Mercadona for instance.
The gazpacho sold in McDs is from Alvalle, from Murcia, and in my opinion their gazpacho is the best sold commercially (it's the exactly the same sold by el Corte Ingles).

Sure, it isn't home made, but it's certainly the best alternative I've ever tasted (and I've tried an awful lot of them - I tend to drink litres of the stuff in the summer and I don't always get the chance to make it myself).
If you want a truly disgusting gazpacho try any of the sludge sold under the name by Marks & Spencers or the Convent Garden Soup Company.
The salads sold at McDonalds in Spain aren't too bad (if you can get over their use of iceberg lettuce), as well as a generous portion of canned tuna, REAL extra virgin olive oil as a dressing, salads also feature olives and asparagus.
Other unusual items that haven't been mentioned yet are:
tofu burgers with ginger sauce in Japan (was a limited offering - but very nice whilst they lasted)
And battered squid rings in Italy.
