Ok so my point is all exits operate in the same manner on an Airbus in Mexico and an Airbus in France on a 737 in China and a 737 in India. so why do you need to know English? Lots of people have read the emergency cards in their respective languages in their countries. An emergency is an emergency. I bet in the twin towers there were people who couldn't speak a word of English and they got out. So anyone can sit in the exit!

Point made. Government take note people of otehr nationalities like the extra legroom too(:.
If you're flying a Chinese airline and the FA yells at you after a crash to not open the emergency exit (perhaps there is debris or a fire outside), how will you know whether he/she is saying open it or don't open it, if you don't speak Chinese?
