Several years ago, I almost had the opposite happen. In AUS, heading to DAL, plane going AUS-DAL-AMA. I guess there was an earlier AUS-DAL that had been delayed until just a little while before this one, so that most of the DAL passengers on my flight switched to that one to get the DAL a bit early. After boarding, the FA's asked if there was anyone going to DAL, please ring the call buttons, becuase otherwise, they would go nonstop to AMA. There were about 8 of us to DAL, though, so it went as scheduled.
