I have to travel through LGW since most of my European flights either begin or end with a visit to the UK.

However, for the past two trips I made to other European destinations, I have purposely routed through CDG so as to not get stung by the one-carryon rule.

My new MO is take two carryons and checked bag into UK, leave UK with one carryon in checked bag that is now emptied of all it's gifts for family, and then route back through CDG with two carryons again and checked bag full of shopping.

I think the one carryon rule must be hurting business. I can't be the only one avoiding transiting UK because of this stupid rule.
