Missed connections in Houston is unfortunate, but it was likely less than would've been stuck in ABQ with no way to Amarillo. They probably decided that those misconnections in Houston would have an easier time getting where they needed to go, and ultimately with less hassle than those stuck Amarillo passengers.
A hassle, yes, but I'd be grateful if it was me stuck and the airline accommodated. In the end, a 45 minute delay is nothing in air travel. That FA sounded quite rude, though, and probably should result in a letter to Customer service.
You would feel differently if you missed your connection in HOU and had to sit for 3 hours (or overnight) because WN added a stop in Amarillo. Of course, WN should have had a better plan for the connecting passengers in HOU. I would have been absolutely LIVID if I had missed my connection. I certainly would have made them buy me a meal during my missed connection, since it was THEIR fault that the flight was late.
