I was in a restaurant last night, in a foreign country, and there were plenty of credit card stickers about the place.

After the meal, I asked for the bill and gave my credit card for payment. The waitress came back and said "sorry sir but our machine isn't working, you have to pay cash"

Luckily, I had enough cash on me, so I just paid and thought nothing more of it, other than being slightly annoyed at having to go to the bank to get more cash.

What would you have done in my position ? Just payed cash or kicked up a fuss ? I'm wondering what they would have done if I didn't have enough money.
