Was the seat comfort majorly different up-front? And the Terraces in JNB/CPT?
Seating is exactly the same as convertible leather seats in CE and Eurotraveller. As far as I know, Comair only use 737-300 and 400s now.
Service was great as mentioned (it should be wth 5 crew!!!). The purser looked like the South African version of Anne Robinson on The Weakest Link, if you've ever seen that but she was actually really nice. 2 Crew served the 5 pax in Club and the other 3 served Traveller which was, unusually, half empty.
Terraces in JNB and CPT are actually quite good although not huge. Standard Terraces lounge with the usual fare. At breakfast, there were Croissants, Muffins and Cereals to help yourself to. Free internet pcs are available for use in JNB terraces, and wireless connections are available in both airports from R30 for 30 minutes (gets cheaper the more you buy). Just switch on your laptop and pay by credit card. JNB has nice views across the domestic apron to the runway threshold. CPT has some views across the apron from a small part of the lounge only. I have only ever been in both JNB and CPT terraces when they have been half empty so I have never had a problem finding a seat.
The last time I flew the route in economy, we got an SA travel agent to book the ticket for us. Can't remember who, as it was 4 years ago! We got a single in economy for £98.
