I was there Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and the check-in area seemed to be operating smoothly.

It seems the often-closed security checkpoint near the international terminal (behind gate 75 or so) is designated as the elite security line. This checkpoint appears to be closed at off-peak hours, as it was closed at 8pm on Tuesday, but open at 5pm on Wednesday.
