Fellow FT'er travelinmanS had this to say about the Hilton Sanya:

I did go to the Hilton Sanya last year. I was on a reward stay. The night I arrived was the hotel's "official" opening night (even though they'd been open for months) and there was a dragon dance and fireworks show as well as free drinks! It was a bargain at 10,000 pts a night. I've noticed now they have tripled the points requirement. I'm unsure if you're using points or not but I think while at 10,000 its a good deal at 30,000 its a rip off.

If you're from inside China its probably one of the best resort hotels you can find in China although I think the prices on the website are too high. The food is OK but expensive, and they aren't generous with the water in your room which is a shame since tap water is not potable. Service is like service elsewhere on the mainland...not too great. The facilities are new and the beach is very nice (although it is dirty as littering is a problem in China). The pool is huge although some areas of it seemed a bit dirty. The highlight was the huge bathtub in the rooms...definitely a nice way to relax!

If you're already in China it is worth it to go there for a weekend (not more) and if you're not in China and just want to go to a beach resort in Asia I would go to the Phuket Hilton or Bali Conrad (which is 10 times better!). It was easy for me since I was in Guangzhou and its only an 1 1/2 flight away, so a weekend was possible now that I'm no longer in GZ I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again.
