Wilsons Leather makes some good size totes in the US which can be used for laptops, as does Samsonite. I've also seen good choices at Franklin Covey. I love my Titan laptop case which I found in Germany after 6 months of searching; it has enough room to double as a weekender if I need to, but with only my work supplies is quite light and narrow.
