KiwiFlyer: Thank you very much for adding your response.......very much appreciated. The reason why I wanted a stopover in RAR is because I will be retiring the week before and wanted to have a rest/recline before we hit the social scene with all our friends in Aussie, our first trip back in 20 years (friends have been coming to the US for hols instead!!! I am to be the surprise birthday gift for my dear friend so need to be in Tas by the night of the 2 Jan to accomplish that mission. We could stay an additional night in RAR to avoid New Year's eve in Syd.We will be connecting to a Jetstar flight to Tas the day of our arrival. We will take whatever routing we can between RAR and Aussie.
Figured RAR would be a good stopover along the way, even taking into consideration the cyclone/rainy season. We were there in Sept and our ship could not make port due to the inclement weather. They sure have been knocked around over the last several years so I was hoping their luck would change!
kykate: I have 150k miles actually and my husband has 130k, I thought we had a few less but we have enough individually. Thanks very much for the heads up though.
Morrisey: yeah, I know the holidays are tough but I'm hoping that KiwiFlyer's optimissm and ours will carry us through. It's worth a try anyway.
