Alitalia does not fly Italy-SFO (they used to, with old 767, always full, but Alitalia's smart marketing people thought to cancel MXP-SFO maybe because it was always too full and overbooked... :-) )
I tried AF once, I was upgraded due to overbooking from CDG-SFO. It was a good experience, but the seats were quite old (747-400 in 2001).
Never tried KLM Business on long haul flights (I think they use MD11 on this leg).
The idea of VS actually is interesting, but unfortunately the only way to get to LHR directly from VCE is with BD, one flight a day in the mid afternoon.
So far I have understood that:
- I should avoid DL
- VS would be the best, though difficult to get due to codesharing and bad connection VCE-LHR
The easy ones would be AF (they flight A340-300 in the winter) or KL (MD11).
Which is the best product?
