Intra-Asia is not so hot - the main problem being the poor pitch/recline in business class with those older seats. I think it may be something like 45-50 degrees pitch? Big, wide seats, however. Difficult to sleep without assistance.
The food is generally good, but the presentation is better on long-haul, with an entirely different set of serviceware.
I don't think the flights 46, 47 NRT-JFK-NRT have the newer Shell seat, but to be honest the older business class on those planes have the same old seats but with much better pitch/recline, I believe about 64 inches of pitch?
Those particular business seats are more comfortable than the newer "Shell" seats - wider and softer. The "sideways slant flat" aspect of the Shell seats really does not work well because the degree of slant is too dramatic and you end up sliding down the seat in anything but the "lie on your side" position.
Have fun! The drinks are good and the service is ALWAYS good - a great contrast to most US-based carriers.
