Hubby and I are planning a trip in Nov. I'm roughing out an itinerary and would appreciate any input. Thanks!
Overnight to Paris on 11/14. Leave Wed. Arrive Thurs. Spend three nights in Paris. Rent a car and take the following roadtrip:
Loire Valley - 2 nights. Probably stay in Tours. While there have dinner at Jean Bardet. Possibly tour the Monmousseau Wine Caves.
Mont-St-Michel: 1 night or day trip
Bayeux: 2 nights. Possibly go to Giverny on the way back to Paris to visit Monet’s Maison et Jardin. Alternatively, I am considering dropping the off in Rouen.
Return to Paris for 5-6 nights (depends air fare for different dates of return, and whether we stay a night in Mont-St. Michel). Take a day trip to Versailles, and go to the Salon de Vignerons Independants (Thanks for the suggestion, Kate_Canuck!).
Splitting the stay in Paris this way has three benefits that I see: 1. It lets me attend the Salon without travelling during Thanksgiving (dates 11/22-11/26); 2. Gives us two weekends in Paris; and, 3. Lets me split the stay in Paris between two hotel programs allowing me to use points from both and stay free at each.
For the two stays in Paris I planned to stay one weekend on the left bank and one weekend on the right bank. I have no hotel plans for the Loire Valley or Normandy other than picking those cities.
I'm open to any and all suggestions for improvement/additions.
Thanks!
