I would talk to the hotel security dept and let them know what you want, ex., cost to replace computer plus some points for the security breach. As for compensating your time to rebuild your files, I don't think they will. They did ask you what you want but you instead responded to a survey and didn't seem to want to deal with the hotel directly. The vendor working unsupervised in your room should not have happened. Best thing is to deal with the hotel directly.
