Unless I'm making some idiotic mistake, I want platinum status for: domestic upgrade ability (with stickers), bonus miles, first class check-in, access to international lounges if flying coach.... sounds pretty good to me, if only for a year and a half... (or a year and a half times two, if my theory of a separate challenege is a solid one and we're travelling together...). i'd do it just for the bonus miles, wouldn't you?
