Agreed. Especially when you look at hotel rates in some cities these days!!

I also like the points and elite benefits, but as a leisure traveller I tend to pay for nights at inexpensive hotels (ie: Fairfield, Courtyard, Hampton, etc), and redeem the points when I want to splurge.
