Just to add to what others have already said, I am a long time thinkpad owner having 8 different thinkpads over the years. I have tried toshiba and dell and was very unhappy with both, the tiny sony intrigued me and I honestly think i would really like it but having been a long time user of the trackpoint, I didn't want to have to go through the learning phase of the touchpad, my daughter has a touchpad and while its ok to use imo there is no substitute for a trackpoint.
I just recently purchased my second thinkpad since the transition over to lenovo and both sales have been excellent, the units came as ordered and much sooner than the expected ship dates i was given. The unit im using now is an x60s and I think its my favorite thinkpad so far, the core duo is fast and the battery life is superb, if you travel on long flights add in the extra extended life battery and you can easily expect 6-7 hours with high brightness and you can expect 9-10 hours of battery life if you lower the screen brightness.
