Le Meridien Versaille is my favourite SPG property in Montreal and I have stayed at all 4 downtown ones. It is a smaller boutique property that treats Plat very well. The restaurant Bronte is excellent but not cheap. My last time there with starter and main course and a glass of wine plus tax and tip is about C$85.

But bear in mind that depending on where you want to be and need to be, it may be a little less convenient. It is the further SPG property from Old Town and the convention center but have a lot of interesting restaurants and bars around...
