I am hardly a glitterati and barely a Mucci but I just spent €75 on a V-class alternative connecting flight out of LHR the T4 to AMS "just in case". Yes I have every intention of using the return. Limited hand baggage only on the outbound and surely no watery champagne with salmon on salad expected. I'll take it!

Indeed I'll still be flying BA, although I may have been given cause to wonder, as do I with BAA/Ferrovial, whether the users or the shareholders are most important features of these co-dependant, private corporate institutions. Oh no wait my head must be in the clouds again... Honestly, for those of you wondering about London, some of the best shopping imaginable is on offer at the airport (particularly Harrods!). And there's no better way to experience it than on [does anyone know the BA advertising slogan after "the world's favourite airline", sorry it's quite late and I'm really drawing something of a blank just now].
