I had the same thing happen on a MartinAir DC-10 in AMS a long time ago. Turned out the engine was fine, but the warning light had malfunctioned. Of course the aborted take-off had basically obliterated the brakes, and the all of those needed replacing. Boarded again, only to have some loony lock himself in the lav claiming God had sent him, and he wasn't coming out. Again, we all deplane, claim our luggage. I think that we finally departed about 14 hours late...
