This would only apply if booking a US itin. If booking an HP itin on Orbitz it should be on 401 (Shares). It's funny if you use Orbitz because both US and HP are offered and sometimes at different prices. And only some itins with mixed metal are available. I recently had to book a multi-city itin using Orbitz on mixed US and HP metal. I knew which flights I wanted, but for some reason choosing US would not show certain HP flights as US code-shares. And using HP although it could get the flights I wanted was $160 more than the US website. Although I am supposed to use Orbitz when traveling to meetings paid for by the company I booked on the US site and saved the company some $$.
I assume all of this will go away in early March when the reservations systems cut over to only Shares.
