Yes, rush hour in South Florida can be very heavy, especially if it's been raining. Traffic moves but at a crawl.
It's a straight run down I-75 then onto the 826 Palmetto Expressway then the 836 Dolphin Expressway into MIA. Both the 826 and 836 are notorious for rush hour delays on a daily basis. All roads you'll use are multi lane freeways.
