So what should I do if I am ever offered a double upgrade. Tell the GA it can't be done and then watch them hand it out to someone else. Maybe I should have a legal pad ready to go and make them sign a wavor that if UA refuses to honer the ticket they will personally stand by the upgrade.
Bottom line is UA made an offer, customer excepted. Boarding cards were issued and customer is/ws entitled to that seat. It was not an upgrade on a fare, it was a new ticket on a new flight. They are entitled to compensation. How much to be debated.
Take it, get on the plane and enjoy. Stay out of the IFL because you don't belong in it.
If he did that he would have had a suite.
I have had it happen, other people have not had a problem.
Some have.
Why ask for trouble?
