Mariott MR for hotels
Far less fun, but how about using the Marriott points for Marriott hotel stays? I was considering 2 nights at Marriott Sydney Harbour. Perhaps this is poorer value than MR -> Tesco -> BAEC.

I'll post separately on the Marriott board but any insight welcome.
