DC10 heavy maintenance is still done in Singapore (SASCO). The aircraft are ferried there.

If this is true isnt that very expensive to fly the planes from the US to SIN, both in terms of wear and tear and money. Or is it that much cheaper to work on the planes in SIN then the US?
