I was late arriving (4:42 PM) at CMH on 8/26 for the 5:05 PM CMH/DTW.

I had a 22' x 14" x 9" overnight bag, a computer bag and a roll of blueprints.

The new TSA rule is one carryon and one personal item. The CSA advised me to go directly to the gate and "Gate Check" the overnight bag.

I went to the security checkpoint and put my luggage on the belt and passed through the metal detector. After passing the metal detector I picked up my luggage and went to gate 36.

The gate agent agreed to "gate check" my overnight bag to SAN (my final destination)

Has anyone tried to fly with three pieces of luggage recently and had success or problems?
