I really wish we had a government travel forum. I had to learn nearly everything I know about government travel the hard way. At my agency, travel tends to be fairly optional (i.e. you can avoid travel intensive engagments if you have enough planning), so when I effectively volunteered to spend three months bouncing around random cities in America there were not a whole lot of people I could ask for advice!
