[I don't know if it's policy or not, but when the showers have been busy and flights are getting close to departure time, sometimes you may be been sent with a voucher for the spartan shower-suite bathrooms at the airside Mercure Hotel facility. (That Mercure facility has better water pressure; and unlike the KL lounge shower rooms, the Mercure shower rooms have their own toilet en-suite too; however the Mercure bathrooms are blahhh old and need a renovation to look more contemporary.)]
New Year's weekend there was a problem with the showers in the KLM lounge - got a free pass for the Mercure Shower Rooms. The one assigned was very clean - wife would have been happy - nice size, place to hang clothes, hot shower, potty, nice wash basin, towels, a basket with little bottles of shampoo and body gel and a bar of soap. An attendant cleans each room after each use. Its strictly BYO wash cloth - this time I managed to remember - And yes I gave the attendant a tip.
