When a King bed isn't really a King bed

So,

I was in LA over the weekend for some business+personal travel and I booked a room at the Residence Inn Huntington Beach Fountain Valley.

I specifically chose this location because they offered a King bed for less points than anyone else around. There were Queen rooms closer to where where were going that were cheaper and there were King rooms closer to where we were going that were more expensive. I chose this location because of the King bed even though it was a pretty far drive to where we were going.

This is an older-style RI. I love them. There is nothing like having a fireplace and a full kitchen to make the place feel like home.

When we got to the room, it was immediately obvious that the bed was not a King-sized bed. Ms. jopalenc called down to the front desk to make sure we were given a King room - yep. It's a King. We'll move you to another room if you want....

We hung ount for a few more minutes and then I decided to measure the bed. 6 8.5"*11" pieces of paper later I realized the bed is only 66" wide. Checking over at www.wikipedia.org shows that this is a "Super Queen" and that King beds are 76" wide.

Ms. jopalenc calls back down to the front desk and tells them that the bed is definitely not a King bed. She is then told that all the rooms in the hotel have "King" beds and all the beds are the same size.

Now I start looking at the Plat room guarantee and come to find some very strange and confusing language that seems to indicate that bed type is not covered under a room type guarantee at a RI. What??

So now I am trying to decide what I should do.

The RI down there should not be advertising King beds if they don't have King beds.
