You might want to take a look at switching to Tmobile depending on your usage patterns. For just voice, the family plan is about equal to Cingular - you get about 150 less monthly minutes but you get two numbers at the base price. Then each additional phone is $9.99. Where Tmo gets cheaper is when you add text/data plans. Unlimited text messages for all phones is $19.99 per month (up to 5 phones) and unlimited data is $5.99 per phone per month. Cingular makes you buy the text/data per phone and comes out to $29.99 per phone per month. I am pretty sure you can sign up for a new Tmo account with your own phones without a 2 yr commitment (anyone please correct me if I am wrong on this).
I am considering doing the switch to Tmo in March when my 2 yr contract with Cingular runs out.
I don't know if TMO will sign you up w/o any contract, but you can do a 1 year (vs. 2). TMO reps monitor and answer such questions over at howardforums.
Also, I believe that TMO is less for voice service (family plan). I get 1k min + unlimited nights & weekends & unlimited text & mobile-mobile for 4 phones for about $100/mo. [Unfortunately, the $10/mo unlimited text messaging for the whole family is now $20 or so... but I'm grandfathered).
