How common are 7+ hour flights w/only BEVERAGE SERVICE?

I knew basically all domestic flights (in economy) were now just beverage service or MAYBE 'food for purchase' (which is why I ALWAYS pack snacks -- domestic flights with lay-overs or delays can result in LONGGGG days with no food served).

What really surprised us was our recent 7 1/2 hour flight that provided barely two beverage services -- not even complimentary crackers or pretzels Yes, there was a $5 sandwich you could purchase, but that could be true on many much shorter flights. It seems hard to believe that a flight that long didn't even provide a small snack

The flight? SJU - LAX (which was an overall 12 1/2 hour itinerary for us). Once we thought about it, we couldn't really think of any other 'domestic' flights that would be 7 1/2 hours. Any other flight that long would most likely be international and all our recent international flights still included food of some kind.

So, when was your last 7+ hour "beverage only" flight???
