It's a problem in HDN, that's for sure. The departure area is about 1/8 the size of the 757 cabin. I can see wanting to get the heck out of there an on board in a hurry.
But normally, yeah, it's usually a who cares. Nowadays there's so much overhead space it really doesn't pay to leave the club and get there to board early anyhow.
