The Townplace Suites I stayed at for a week in western Minneapolis offered almost nothing for breakfast. I wasn't impressed with the property in general. It's just too basic for my tastes. When it comes down to that low on the food chain, I would start to consider other chains. But then again, I'm a full service Marriott kind of guy.
There's one in downtown Minneapolis that isn't bad. It's a newer property and it's in an urban neighborhood with quite a few interesting bars/restaurants in walking distance, plus a little grocery store to handle the bagels and such. I figure a TPS in a good urban neighborhood distance is better than an FS Marriott in the suburbs with a standard hotel restaurant/lounge. If you pass that way again, you might give it a try...
