Columbus OH, Jan 15 (AP) - In perhaps one of the most radical responses to high home heating fuel prices seen to date, the town of Columbus, Ohio has decided to relocate to warmers climes to pass the winter months.
Taking inspiration from the flocks of canadian geese that fly overhead each autumn, Mayor Mike Griswold announced plans last year to relocate the town to Virginia until spring.
"You know, we were trying to think of ways to lower folks' heating bills," said Mayor Mike, as he likes to be called, "and I was thinking to myself 'jeez, I wish it wasn't so COLD here!'."
Later that day, he gathered his advisers and put the question to them. While everyone agreed that they problem originated with cold fronts moving in from Canada, they were originally stumped. "It's not like we can move Canada," he mused, recalling the debates. "Then I looked out the windows and saw the birds going by and it hit me!" And the decision to move the town was taken.
