I appreciate everybody`s responses. This is most helpful. I find the lack of a breakfast perk at Courtyard to be curious. If a Courtyard in the general area of a FS Marriott has a comparable price, there doesn`t seem to be any incentive to stay at the Courtyard. Regarding ohmark`s question re:why travel on the weekend, I take numerous weekend holidays with my significant other, and staying at a nice hotel is more important at that time than when I am traveling by myself. So thanks everyone!
No problem, the biggest difference I have seen is the breakfast at resorts. This is great at Hilton when in Hawaii or Cancun and can save you like $30 + a day.. (especially if getting buffet for 2)... so it really stinks that you do not get it, especially with the spouse on vacations. I still think Hilton is better there. But you may get breakfast at some resorts (i.e. some do give additional benefits for platinums).. but mostly NO Breakfasts at resorts.... a bummer (as well as courtyard)
