Amazing that people would equate Kool-Aid + salt as food.
Bananas are amusing - one of my employees properly declared an apple and a banana at US Preclearance here at Xmas, to eat in the lounge area before the flight. Not only did they confiscate them but he went to the Customs penalty box for the backpack search to see if any more fruit was lurking (*).
Of course at the first cafe right after security and in the Admirals Club you can buy (or get free) apples and bananas which we all know are from the same sources as my employee bought his.
