Were you very impressed the first time you travelled to NYC?
I was in awe. We stepped off a train at Grand Central Station at about 6:30 p.m. at the tail end of a rain storm, and did not think we would ever be able to hail a taxi cab to get us and our bags to a nearby hotel (with everyone taking cabs to the shows, etc.). When we finally made it to our hotel room - damp and all, we looked at each other sort of like, "Do we really want to go back out again?" But we did, and had a great dinner, and had a great time. I was relieved to find out that NYC was not scary at all, like I had imagined. This was back in 1983 I think, and so it is even less "scary" now.
