The FA confirmed that a couple of years ago they did have them but to use his language "the bank took them back." As to the heat issue, it was really quite stiffling and there is a limit to how much you can take off. I thought about stripping to the buff but decided against it.

What really burned me was the crew's unwillingness to acknowledge it or do anything about it. As for the coughing and smelly passengers beside me, of course, this could happen on any airline. I must say it was better than a recent flight on UA from LHR where the whole cabin smelled because a woman would not change her child's diaper. Finally, the missed connections were a result of not only the problem with the late arrival but inordinately long lines at customs and security. I typically like 1 1/2-2 hours between flights. That way I have more to stretch and relax before another long flight. My comment here was just made to indicate my total frustration with this flight. At least I did get a free drink.

and my miles were credited within 2 days which I understand often is a problem.
Sorry to hear about your flight. I was also on 432 FRA ORD on Sunday, which may have been the late flight you were referring to?? (although it was only 30 minutes late in the end). Apparently ALL Intl flights to ORD were delayed- the officer at passport control commented that 432 was the first flight in in over two hours, if you were flying on Sunday. Long Security lines as it seems all the flights arrived around the same time. Freezing rain was not making for very happy airport operations overall. Now, LH Y is a well known commodity. Given how much better New LH C is (which seems to be quite consistent on 432), you may want to use your miles/pay for this option. The FAs are quite happy to adjust temperature in my experience, but the Airbus A340 600 is well known for being either too hot or too cold. As for the short hop from FCO- none of the airlines have in flight entertainment on the short intra european routes as far as I know. Personally, for ORD flights from Europe, I would say LH is the best bet going on both schedule and overall comfort.
