A real pity if this information is correct. I think that TG made a big mistake when they stopped daily service, which has made the JFK flight much less desirable for business travellers. I thought that loads were generally decent though. Perhaps not.

I do wonder how good the information is though, and whether such a new routing with a stop in China is at all grounded in reality. Firstly, it seems doubtful to me that TG enjoys the route authority to fly between the US and China. Secondly, the Chinese requirement of visas even for transit passengers would seem to make such a routing completely unviable for taking passengers between the US and Thailand. It would certainly be nice to be able to fly TG nonstop JFK-PVG (on any carrier for that matter), but it seems unlikely to me.
