I think that you are out of luck. According to the MetroNorth RR website, there is no connecting (i.e. bus) service available at Salisbury Mills station. However, I doubt that the taxi fare would be as cheap as you seem to think. $5.00 for a four- or five-mile taxi ride seems unrealistically low. Have you contacted the taxi company that picks up from SWF? Another more costly option, of course, is a one-way car rental. I think that Avis serves both SWF and P.J.
